Playing with my nails

Hello everyone...it's been a long time since my last post, I've been traveling for the last 3 months and today I make some time to post something that's got my interest. It seems that nails are taking importance this days, and designs are getting more and more complicated, that's why I wanted to give a try to those design plates where you can stamp a design onto your nail. It super easy, and i'll post a tutorial soon (I hope) but on the meantime let's see how I did...

I've been working on photos for my etsy shop. At a very slow pace I've been adding items that you might want to check out here. I'm doing it as fast as I can but this weather isn't helping to take photos with natural sunlight :(

I do custom orders. You can see below the latest order. If it's made with felt, yarn, paper or fabric I can probably make it. Notice I don't mention clay, I don't feel that confident yet :p

Braided Charms Bracelet

This time I wanted to make some jewelry. It's very easy and you can use as many color combinations you like. I made mine with 3 bright colors (you know I love bright colors) and golden charms. Here's the step by step. I have a facebook page now (again) so make sure to check it out for some last minute tips on other topics as makeup or food ;)

If you want to know how I make the second braid look at the video at the end of the post :)

1. Cut your string desired length and attach clamp. 2. Braid. 3. Attach charms between strings. 4. Add lobster clasp and charm (I love using jingles) And done!

TIP: if you want your charm to have movement use 2 jump rings, one for the charm itself, other to join the first jump ring to the string.

TIP: if you place the jump ring around the braids instead of into the braids all your charms will move to the bottom when using it.

Combining bead colors with strings will make the bracelet look more stylish and sophisticated. When in doubt place both gold and silver charm and jump rings into your bracelet to see which one looks best.

This two weeks I've been making jewelry. I know I left behind my blog, but let me tell you, it was worth it. You will finally get your hands on many tutorials. Also I've been working this few days on Christmas in July. So this last couple days you might have everything you need for Christmas =)

I don't know if you ever seen a braid like this, it's the same braid front and back, pretty cool!!! I had this colorful satin cords and wondered if I could make a braid with 6 cords. Not the typical braid, but a cool and different one. So after an hour this is what I came up with. This braid will be on the shop next week, but I will be out of town until Friday next week, so all orders will be shipped on Saturday.

I prepared a video for the braid, hopefully it help you make your own. I think this new/old fashion trend of wearing friendship bracelets, and very colorful or neon strings helped me develop this new line of jewelry. ---Tell me what you think of this trend, if you like it or not, or if you have an awesome idea on another stylish bracelet or necklace.---

10 new speedball carving block!!! yaaaaay!!!

I found out an amazing prize on this carving blocks, so I bought them right away. 10 carving blocks, how many stamps can I fit there?? hmmm

I wanted to share with you about the carving tool. Mine has several interchangeable blades. They are numbered from small to large and also include a knife. There are many carving tools outside, but most people recommended this one, besides, it has it's own storage =) Also you can purchase additional blades. I purchased mine here, but if you want, there is a starting kit here. Let's carve together!

Stamp Carving Tutorial

Hot Cocoa: 1cup Milk + 2Tbsp Hershey's Cocoa + 2Tbsp Sugar + Vainilla (optional)

After several weeks recovering from a pool accident... I'm finally back. I was very depress, but a few days ago I was bored and depressed and started crocheting a gift for a friend. So I got my mood back, and started thinking it wasn't that bad. While getting my crafts in order and sorting what's next, I took this picture... According to weather.com it's 18˚C (75˚F) outside, but it feels like 10˚C!!! Since I can't drink coffee or tea, I came up with some delicious Hershey's hot chocolate =)

Hopefully this Friday I start a new series of blog post that includes cards, crocheting, sewing, embroidery and other cool stuff I want to make. I'm thinking to make it once a week: Inspiration Friday, Color-me Wednesday, and so on... Still working on it, but this allows me and you to make different things in just one week. Also I'll try to affiliate with other blogs and website for cooperative work as cards or knitting challenges. Let's see what happens. For the time being, I took this pictures a few days ago with natural light at evening! It started to get dark really quick, but I think you might get this how to... I will post again with new pictures soon. Click here to see what you can do with carved petals!

Tips:

- Use an x-acto knife to make it easier to carve. This must be done lightly!

- Make bold lines, and stamp it down. If there are too bold, carve again. This helps first time carving stampers to handle the carving tool.

- For small areas and details use a syringe needle, very slowly and firm.

- When stamping, use resistant dye ink, this will prevent markers or other ink to smudge your stamping.

When I got my tools for carving and the carving block... I draw this cute cupcake and start carving right away. It was 11 pm but I was sooo excited that I carved it in one hour, stamped it and make a set of 4 cards with envelopes at the same time! THAT'S WHY THIS PICTURES ARE SO DARK, but need to share this with everyone, so here is how I did it.

Lo que mas disfrutamos de las fiestas es la comida y yo no me he quedado atrás. Ya he repartido varias canastitas de estos deliciosos cupcakes de CHEESECAKE de Frambuesa...mmm obviamente tuve que probarlos y fueron un total exito. Para los interesados 12 cupcakes de frambuesa medianos (5cm / 2" de diametro). Si los quieren de otro sabor o sencillos me escriben para darles una cotización. Lógicamente se los puedo entregar decorados, en envases, con moños y demas para arreglos navideños, solo tienen que escribir.

El Coquito es una bebida alcoholica hecha con coco y Ron. Es de lo mas delicioso y lo mejor de todo es que dura aproximadamente un mes dentro del refrigerador. Los hago de varios sabores, este tiene canela, pero se puede reemplazar con nuez moscada o alguna otra especia de su preferencia. También es delicioso sencillo sin especias! Se puede decorar. Escriban para hacer sus pedidos. Este es un excelente regalo y sirve como reemplazo del Ron Ponche o Ron Pope tradicional, para tener unas fiestas diferentes.
